Thank you! Thank you to the MVSU faculty, staff and students for a successful inaugural weekend. Thank you, Dr. Anna Hammond, chairperson, the entire steering committee, all subcommittees, the foundation, alumni, all sponsors, and the honorary chairs for your dedication, hard work and the beautiful events.
It was a special moment when the University medallion was placed around my neck by Commissioner of Higher Education Hank Bounds and IHL Board of Trustees Vice President Bettye Neely.
As I said in my inaugural speech on Saturday, I am inspired by your charge and I accept it with the deepest humility and commitment to give my very best to lead this university with dignity, integrity, and transparency. My selection to serve remains a singular honor, opportunity and privilege.

Dr. Oliver, It was truly a pleasure to see you again. I was so proud and honored to be apart of your special day. You are indeed what everyone says you are,” A PHENOMENAL WOMAN.”
Although, I have only known you for a little over 2 years, your mark in my life has been that of inspiration, motivation and continuous displays of how a woman can change the world through the power of knowledge and a caring spirit. You will always and forever be remembered and cherished in my heart.
Thank you Dr. Oliver for not only preaching excellence but living it as well.
God Bless you and keep you as you inspire the people in Itta Bena the same as you did here in Florida.

You were very good for Bennett, and I appreciate all you did to make it great. Your Bennett Sisters love you, and we know that you will do great things for Mississippi Valley. Elon, is also my home.
